The Genesis narrative, read without the filter of institutional theology, forces an impossible question: Which god is actually good?

The one who offers truth and knowledge, even if it means challenging authority? Who tells humanity the truth about their potential and encourages them to claim it? Who represents liberation, expansion, and the realization of human divinity?

Or the one who lies, maintains restrictions under false pretenses, uses fear as a tool of control, and exiles those who refuse to remain ignorant?

The serpent did not deceive. The deity did. And Christian theology has spent two thousand years defending the deceiver while condemning the truth-teller.

This is the textual truth that institutional Christianity cannot afford to acknowledge. This is why the Gnostics, Essenes, Cathars, and other mystical traditions—who recognized this truth—were systematically suppressed, persecuted, and erased from official history.

The foundation of Christian theology is not based on textual fidelity. It is based on the protection of a particular power structure. And that foundation crumbles the moment the text is read without theological bias.
