A four-letter series written to incarcerated Black men from a man who was one of them. The first letter introduces William's story — the incarceration, the streets, the cycle — and establishes that change is possible, documented, and not dependent on anyone's permission. Subsequent letters address men serving life sentences, men being released, and men still inside the addiction cycle, each grounded in the specific psychology of a man who has done the work rather than observed it from a distance. The series closes with the argument that the choice to change is not made once but every day, and that the most dangerous moment in any man's recovery is the one where the system has failed him so many times that he stops believing the choice is still available.
